http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123082873 \"Aircraft 80-0172 is the 100th A-10 to go through the Precision Engagement program, started in the 309th Aircraft Maintenance Group in July 2006. On average, the 571st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron technicians are upgrading each A-10 aircraft to the new A-10C configuration in less than 90 days. \" Nice work in turing the upgrade around so quickly! Assuming this is okay to post seeing it's on the AF website? |

It's not dying... We still have plenty of "legacy" aircraft and pilots hanging around DM and probably will for a few more years...

From the five pointed building they want to go the route of the JSF/F-35 but just when that is all supposed to pan out isn't out for public consumption just yet. I'd like to see them flying forever, but time history and time will eventually hanger the fleet one day. Not every airframe can have the longevity of a B-52, though it'd be a pure pleasure if this airframe did
