Took the \"plung\" yesterday and enlisted back in the reserves. I know there are MANY opinions on reserve mechanics but I for one can't wait to turn a wrench on an A-10 again. Hopefully my first drill weekend will be in january, get my training up to date and get out on the line ASAP.

I'll be like a little kid in a candy shop the first time I launch out one of the old girls.

So those of ya'll down at Moody be on the look out for an old (33) bald SRA on drill weekends and more than likely that'll be me. Hope to move up the chain as quick as possible.

On a different note, got promoted at work. Now the Chief of Commodities Quality Policy and Analysis. YC-02 (use to be GS-13 before the NSPS moves). Been a good month!

Well let me be the first to congratulate you! I wish I could get back in, I miss it to death, but at 50 and already being retired, they ain't exactly happy to see me darken the door.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations! As a retired member of the AF Reserve I can say you will see folks from one extreme to another (just like the AD  ) I don't regret finishing up my time in the AF in the reserves! When you go in for your UTA's (unit training assemblies) just think baby steps, in other words don't be diasspointed if they don't have you out on a jet the first day.

Paul, If you are on base, or have any business at the Personel building on Thursday's, stop in at the Retiree Affairs Office (around behind the coffee bar) and look me up. I'll be glad to meet you. I'm usually standing in the doorway, looking for A-10 people to talk to.
Looking forward to meeting you. Richard Ray (RayBoy) USAF Ret. :)

Oh yeah, I'm sure my first UTA weekend I won't get near a jet but I'm going to push to get to FTD, egress, and all the other required training so I can get back on the line as quickly as possible. I may be rusty but I am FAR from a noob with no ACFT experience. Left active duty in 1998 but I've been working civil service since then.

I won't be down until the January UTA and that is if they have my paperwork finished by then.

Congrats Paul,

Hey atleast you get to do it again!, But You were Diceman Trained, It'll be like a \"Duck to Water, Riding a Bike, Flipping the BIRD!\"
So go out there, Give them the \"Old Crew Dawg\" A-10 Dance, and Show them \"how its done\".

I got to work with Guard and Reserves off and on while AD on the A-10's and \"Both sides \" ,

MAC AFRTS , That worked for me , (25) 20 were Great 5 I'd throw under the Yuke, Wouldn't listen to you and they would try and \"Pull their rank on off UT days\" on the Young troops.

All supervision was Active Duty, UTA Weekends it was AFRTS, We would leave , Unless asked to Stay.

but We all wore the same uniform.

The Ex always thought it was \" [tard] , after we got married

But the Wife, (The Right One CJ) Has seen me around A-10's at airshows or at Air Parks and seen how I get,She gets it!
Hell someone who i haven't seen since 1986 still remembers how I was with my Jet and She wasn't in the AMU or TFS but\" P.A.\" covering the TDY with us. She always thought it was really \" Cool\" how some of us were with our Jets, and how we talked to them.

I'm sorry , I'm Green with Envy.

Hey \"bald 33 year old SRA\"...look for a balding 43 year old TSgt snooping around from the 122FW IN ANG. Heading down your way for A-10 acceptance training in March.

Latest numbers I've seen, the 122 FW IN ANG is to receive A-10Cs from...6 each from Moody AFB, 6 each from Willow Grove ANG, 6 each from Osan, and 4-5 borrowed from the USAF.

WK ,

So you guys get 6 A-10C's from Moddy to Keep?? Is that right?

Might as Well get them from Fort Smith first.

Instead of taking them from the 23rd .

Where are you guys out of in IN.?

According to our friends in the Spotter World, you are a an "undisclosed private source" and this would seem to be official.

http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2009/12 ... tance.html

So, stuff is being taken from this forum and published on another website as "undisclosed private sources" without crediting WT or the original poster?

You decide if it's time to boot this guy.

Sorry, Coach

But after posting on the recommendable WTF, each of such private info is available for everybody on this planet. And that's known to all registered WTF members. My intention was to share this very interesting info on my unique A-10 blog by protecting the real identity of the original poster.

All what I do is to keep the Hog online.

Wow, guess I'll have to watch more closely what I say...especially since I was going off of the top of my head from a list I've seen once. MY training date is in March...that says nothing about folks who may be already or sent ahead of me. It would be nice to be asked before having my words posted on a blog...maybe I could get more accurate information rather than somebody trying to get a \"scoop\" with inaccurate or partially accurate info without verification.

Goose, the 122FW is based in Fort Wayne, IN (north eastern part of the state). We are working hand in hand with Ft Smith, renewing a partnership that goes back to our F-4 days. Rest assured, the 122FW will take great care of the A-10C and are sure to make the Hawg family proud. I can't do anything about other units losing their aircraft, but I can keep one of them flying when my name is on her. :)

OK , Sniper, Dice and Weasel ,

Is what is posted here on the WT to Register Members or anywhere \"The Property of the WT or Public Fodder?\"

This Question needs to be Answered due to \"Thief of Personal Content such as Photo's etc... that have been posted on the site then taken to another site FOR THEIR OWN USE without Permission,

We need a Ruling on this because Some of Us aren't \"Spotter Fodder\" and don't like seeing stuff High Jacked.

Mack could Post those DVD's Video's on line , But I paid for mine, and have No problem Sharing with the WT family , But NOT a Spotter for their \"Blog\".
So I asked him \"Not too Post it\" and for Him also not to Post his Other Content which is A-10 History. Its His Choice.

But We know it'll be on the \"6:00 JJ Blog \" with NO link or Mention of the WT or Who's Video it belongs too.

So please Make a Call ,

Goose

Goose I agree, and it wouldn't take much more than an amendment to the terms of membership and/or adding it to the FAQ.

Code:
Company name/Website, respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. The policy of Company name/Website. is to terminate the accounts of repeat copyright offenders and other users who infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others

Although he may be techically correct that the info is availible to the world, it is unethical to take what he learns or sees on the WT forums for use on his website.

I'm really surprised that the jettisonable engines haven't been posted over on his blog... oops there goes another A-10 secret exposed for the 6 O'clock report.

OK guys here's my call on this. Did JJ violate any WT copy-rights (or violate any forum rules) by posting comments made by a member here as a \"undisclosed private source\" on his blog? In a word no. We all know anything said here is viewable by the world and that's why we stress OPSEC/COMSES so much here. The only things copy-righted here is anything you post that is your sole property, such as pictures, videos, and you must make it clear when posting that the material is yours and can not be used without your permission. Even then there is no guarantees it will not be copied and used by other people, I'm sorry to say this is the way of the internet.

Having said all the above I had to ask myself did JJ violate any MOREL rules of the WT forums. To that question I had to answer yes. He used a members post on his blog and made it sound semi-official. Should \"we\", the WT forum moderates, enforce morel standards as a reason to ban members? This was a hard one for me but, in the end I had to answer yes. Why? Because we are a private forum and only have to answer to our-selves and the forum members. To me it's kinda like the signs you see in some privately owned stores...\"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone\".

JJ has posted copy-righted material in the forum which forced me to lock the thread, and he has also asked to be sent copy-righted material. Last but not least he used a members comments on his blog without asking the members permission. He has shown times and time again a total lack of respect for other peoples \"stuff\" (and I feel) he believes anything on the internet is his for the taking. For these reasons I have decided to ban JJ from the forum.

If Sniper or Weasel wish to over-ride me and allow him to stay that is their decision and I will step down as forum admin and moderator. JJ you have 24 hours to state your case if you wish and anyone else can make comments before I implement the ban. I believe everyone has the right to defend themselves and that's why I'm waiting 24 hours and starting a new thread. The new thread can be found in the general chat section.
