Last Hog Engine at Shaw: Airmen at Shaw AFB, S.C., May 11 loaded their last TF34 engine on a truck for shipment to an A-10 unit at Moody AFB, Ga., marking the end of Shaw's Warthog engine repair work. Shaw airmen have done major engine repair for the A-10 force since 1992. The unit designation has changed over the years, starting out as the 20th Component Maintenance Squadron's Propulsion Flight and ending as the TF34 Engine Regional Repair Center. Over 18 years, according to a May 13 release, the center produced more than 654 serviceable engines. As part of BRAC 2005, the Air Force is relocating A-10 engine work at two Centralized Intermediate Repair Facilities, one at Moody and one at Bradley ANGS, Conn.
