Just wrapped up HOT for the A-10C in Baltimore with the MD ANG. I seriously don't think I've met a finer bunch of crew dawgs! 30 year old aircraft that they originally received new with .4 hours from the factory...they showed a pride in maintenance that really stood out in my mind. Leak limits? Doesn't matter...it leaks, it needs fixed...and they were. Everyone from SMSgts to A1Cs were more than willing to show us the ropes and let us in on any tricks of the trade.
A more professional yet fun loving group of guys I've never met. I learned a ton and at the same time had my sides hurting from laughing. Something in my F-16 side that I've been missing since my AD F-4 days...guys who know their job, get it done well, and still find time to have fun. Folks seem to forget that morale plays an important role in getting the job done. My hat's off to the fine maintainers from the MD ANG! I definately hope to rainbow with these guys when we're spun up to go downrange!
