This is the sickest sim I have ever seen. The amount of detail blows my mind. This game goes through EVERYTHING.
Google it for more info, or just watch this trailer to have your mind blown.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co8LKJh6Xc0&feature=related
There are more vids on youtube. The startup sequence is like 15 min long- you turn on the engines, IFFCC, CICU, CDU, do all the bits, flight controls...
I'm totally buying this game.

I ran into the two videos detailing the start up sequence, and a couple of vids showing a brief teaser http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm8NIBjTDvs, after messing about with Lock-On this should be great, same people who made the Flaming Cliffs, and Black Shark add on's, that shoved a bunch more detail and physics into the sim.

I actually bought the game already so I could play the beta, it truly is amazing even in beta. As soon as the warthog hotas from thrustmaster is for sale in the US I'm buying that as well. I haven't played in a couple weeks because of doing crap at the house but it is truly an amazing game so far! Hell, I even bought a new PC with top of the line parts so I can play with the max settings!

prkiii, there's a great forum for DCS: A-10C Warthog at http://www.simhq.com.

I'm the assistant forums manager at SimHQ and it's well worth registering. A wealth of knowledge on most of the great simulations out there, and they're working on getting the multiplayer to work on their own server.

I hear ya Stinger! So far I'm being a good boy and haven't bought anything yet...yet...

It's awfully tempting though!

I figure I'll need to build a new computer since mine's almost 6 years old. It was close to top of the line when I built this one so it's still not too bad but I'll need more \"umph\" for DCS: A-10C. Should be able to piece together a good rig for around $1000-1500...I love NewEgg! ;)

Then I'll have to have the A-10C HOTAS...priced around $400ish? It doesn't come with rudder pedals so I'll have to get those too.

Problem is, I've been on so many TDYs this year for A-10 training and stuff that I've kind of neglected my wife...and she could use a trip somewhere. We're planning a 7 day cruise for next spring or summer so we're saving money now.

The original stick and throttle in the A-10 came from the F-15.

Very nice loooking set up!

I think the throttle is still from the F-15, and the stick is now from the F-16.

The pic on the box is from the secret squirrel A-10D model that will have AB! ;)

Latest skins (although no one seems interested I still like to show off!). This is the skin I developed (with help from a few V pilots) of the virtual fighter squadron I joined.

To explain the tail markings. They choose to be the 25th Virtual Fighter Squadron (before I joined) they sim currently hasn't' released it but they will eventually release a Nellis map so I suggested the tail markings of the real world 25th with the code from Nellis

Whoop Ass jets don't need any of the BS nose, cowling or tail art.

Also, the ECM pod looks like it's riding a little too far aft in the picture where they're flying under the power lines.

By the way, when I used to fly in Northern Germany, we used to say we would know where the power lines were by seeing all the Cobras hanging in them.

I'm not a gamer, but they look like good skins!
