Looks like Boise wants to get into the nose art business. They are looking a design I'm assuming to be placed on their aircraft.

Check it out here...

This could be fun to watch. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

I hope all the units don't turn to this....seems like after Ft. Smith's Razorback face and then Ft. Wayne's snake head.....guess Boise's feeling a little left out and wants to join the 'razzle dazzle' group.

Although at first I really liked a clean nose, nose art is starting to grow on me. Maybe because I went so long in the F-16 world where we couldn't have any art at all...anywhere, I'm starting to think it would be cool to see at a Hawgsmoke or something a bunch of different noses parked next to each other. Already I can tell where a jet's from by it's nose, and I think that's kind of cool. There's already talk of a multi-unit Nellis trip coming up in a month or two.

Dice, I sent this link to SimHQ where there are some talented sim skinners...maybe somebody can come up with something cool. Should appear on the front page news in a day or two. Plus I added it directly into the DCS:A-10C Warthog forum.

Come on, man! It's an ATTACK jet, not a race car.

A Hog doesnt need artwork to look deadly.......it looks mean enough already.
The only 'warpaint' I've tolerated on a Hog are the shark mouths of the 'Flying Tigers' and SP's much missed nacelle 'Panther heads'.
Oh and the 'Skulls' fin caps back in the good old days.

Hey Fritz, anything you could do with maybe a warthog skull? I don't know how to do any of this artwork stuff but it might be cool.

That's a good idea. (My wife said the same thing. One reason I am so successful is I surround myself with smart people...why they bother to hang out with me is still a mystery, though, lol)

WOW Fritz, this one is great. About the only change I can think of is if you could lower, or angle the design so that the lower set of teeth are just below the gun. or if the mouth is slightly open so the gun looks like it's comeing out of the mouth.

I like it but it's either to big or the wrong color not sure which. If it's going to be that big it needs to be a shade of gray, the white is to over-powering IMHO.

Here's a version that is more subdued and reworked a little to make it appear as if the GAU-8 is clenched in its jaws...

That last one is the best of the ones you posted. I could grow to think it's at least ok haha. Definitley the all white was just too much.

However...in my opinion, I just think it's unnecessary.

Fritz, now that one is not bad and may have a chance. What ya think about a glowing red eye instead of just the black?? maybe just a small red glow in the middle of the black.

Another vote for the latest rendition. Would like to see it with the evil eye, too, just for comparison.
