I'm going to do an A-O/A-10A tombstone for my Halloween graveyard this year and want your inputs on a fitting epitaph. I'm sure you guys realize this is not and A-10 tombstone only an A model stone. I feel the C model is different enough from the A to lay the A to rest. Also every year I try to get some good images for A-10 for Halloween and never seem to get any so I'm taking matters into my own hands.

I have a nice A-10 tie given to the pilots by Fairchild during the 70s, a pair of A-10 cuff links given to me on my retirement and using my gravedigger's outfit I think I can get some good shots to use during the up-coming Halloween season. So please give me your suggestion on a good epitaph for the A model A-10 Warthog.

Ha ha no one wants to help me give the A-10A the burial it deserves?? I can understand and respect that. Most likely I'll go with something like...

Over thirty years fateful service to her country.

Dice,
Since the operational As were converted to Cs, your tombstone and grave might be appropriate as an \"empty\" tomb. You could make it look like something dug it's way out of the ground with a PS to your epitaph along the lines of \"C you soon\" or \"I'll return for you to C\"

Creativity is running a little low, but lemme stew on it a bit and \"C\" if anything claws its way to the surface!

Cheers,

Zero

Very nice doorart.
But i thought that the first plan to kick out the A-10 was in 1990/1991, but Desert Storm showed everybody the possibility of the A-10.

Nice Idea Zero let me know what you come up with. WK, that would make a nice stone but would take a lot of time to do.

Dutchy,
You are correct, but that original plan called for the last A-10A to enter the boneyard in 1997 as part of the slaughter err, drawdown. That's why I put the 1997 date on the tombstone as that would have been the death date according to the original \"plan.\"

Cheers,

Zero

Looks very good.
Suggestion. Maybe you can make a real Defence gravestone.
What you see on Arlington or Normandy (see picture)

Dutchy, that style would not give me room to put everything I want to on the stone. 30mm, ROFL!
