We have had folks getting hot under the collar on here of late but I think the following article written by a GI is the most calm and reasoned words I have seen on the subject of being on the receiving end of an A10.
Please try and read it with an open mind.

I DIDNT KNOW THE MARINES HAD A-10'S?

THE ARTICLE NEVER SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT THE A-10.
THE FIRST PART OF THE ARTICLE IS HIS STORY,BUT THE REST IS A REPORTERS OWN THOUGHTS ON THE MATTER TRYING TO PASS IT ON AS THIS SGT SWOFFARDS STORY

BLUE ON BLUE HAPPENS EVERY WAR.

WHATS THE POINT OF BRINGING IT UP OVER AND OVER AND ALWAYS IN YOURS AND A COUPLE OF OTHERS NEED TO BLAME THE A-10 SOLEY?

WE ALREADY MASHED THE NUMBERS,AND ITS STILL SAFER TO FIGHT IN IRAQ THEN DRIVE IN CERTAIN STATES HERE,HERES ONE FOR YOU,MORE PEOPLE DIE OR ARE HURT EVERYDAY FROM DRUNK DRIVERS THAN HAVE BEEN IN THE ENTIRE WAR.

ITS A SAD THING AND EVEN ONE LOSS SUCKS BUT IT HAPPENS

Goose-

Take a close look at this picture:

http://www.a-10.org/photos/p.asp?FileName=MVC%2D012F%2EJPG

It's a bad picture, but I think you and I both know the guy standing directly below hole in the leading edge of the horizontal stab. Here's a hint: this isn't his first time over there, you used to work on his jet, I learned a lot from him, and put him back in touch with you.

Let me know what you think.

Well, since you ask it like that, and it is someone I thought I met when I first met you, it must not be who I thunk it was.

I thought it was the guy who was such a party animal during the TX course (sarcasm intended).

By the way, want to buy a Lt Col desert BDU cover cheap cheap? Never been worn, and only dropped in a bar once.
