while looking for info on the downed hog i found this on <b>CNN</b>

It would be nice if somebody could caught that `A-10 bursting crap out of a building` clip from BBC and uploaded it to FTP. I don`t have that possibility for myself.

Was watching Fox News at about 1:00 am MT this morning, when a feed came up from Abu Dahbi TV. It was of an A-10 working as Forward Air Conrtol. He was moving slow, bankin' and rollin' and kickin' out flares... he'd dive to the deck out of camera range swoop back up into the picture, pop out a few more sparklers...changing course in the direction of the Palastine Hotel where the camera was. The pictures at that point were so close you could see that fat smokin' cigar hangin' from the teeth of that Hogs painted on <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. It went on for about 15 minutes or so culminating in the footage of the two tanks on the bridge, then came fragments of concrete being kicked up by machine gun fire in front of the camera, as the camera slowly fell over showing a view of the bottom of the balcony above. the fire came from the the two tanks he was filming. We saw the very last thing he saw... Pretty hairy!...For Sure...

Went back and looked at the tape again and the camera man caught a bomb in the air just before it hit between the hotel and the rivers edge... the blast rocked the balconey as it hit below. When the smoke cleared, the Abrams 25 mm chain gun opened up...Do these guys think that the camera makes them bomb and bullet proof..? 'Course, I'm going to miss that Abu Dhabi camera showing those great shots in the wee hours of the morning.

LOL, i submit that a 'sniper' worth the term would have held his fire against an MBT!

Unless the TC or driver's head is hanging out of the hatch there is little point in engaging a tank at all.

What was that hog firing? Full "party" (combat) mix, including APIDU? Or is it possible the gun was loaded with just HEI. Hell, given the circumstances TP would have done the trick.

Given the amount of input that Rumsfeld has, I wouldn't be surprised if it was TP... A full load of HEI is about $11.5K, APIDU somewhere around $45k. TP is dirt cheap.

I wonder if they would have altered the load for "Urban" CAS. If not, I suppose we'll see a HAZMAT crew soon.

I do not know that much about Military Terminology, au moins je ne suis pas français, but would I be right in guessing that the bullets they are not using the depleted uranium rounds in the Urban combat area? That is the only reason I could think for you mentioning HAZMAT Teams.
