I thought I'd say hello to some fellow hog enthusiasts!
My first look at a Warthog was in between Martha's Vineyard Island and Nomans Land Island in 1983. Nomans Land was a bombing range associated with the Naval Air Station in South Weymouth Massachusetts, which was closed in 1997.
My father and I were fishing off Martha’s Vineyard, and I’d say we were 2 miles from Nomans when two hogs spent the next 20 minutes strafing the island. Hearing and seeing that cannon let loose during strafing runs left a lasting impression on me that remains with me to this day.
The following year I was treated to another exhibition. What an experience! Nomans is currently being cleaned up by the Navy, to be turned into a wildlife preserve. Ordinance removal has been very difficult, and the Navy is running into all sorts of trouble with contaminants in the soil and ground water.

Glad I found this site! See ya around.
