This is a great article. Another testament to how durable the Hog is and how brave our pilots are.

One question...it states that the A-10 doesn't carry smart bombs. Aren't the GBU's considered smart? Or does 'laser guided' only seem smart to me?

the protos were tested with both Laser and Video guided bombs but the in service A-10s only recently got the equipment to do it themselves. Ther's an article in the "Hog chat" section about the Warthog getting the LITENING II pod.
