A-10s with the "IN" tailcode. Where were they based and when did they go out of service? Saw a pic and am curious. |

I would guess they were based at Grissom AFB, now a Reserve base in Northern Indiana. |

I'm not sure when they deactivated, I think around 1992, I can check if you need to know Type 7. Ugly but well hung! http://www.warthogpen.com |

The 45th FS, 930th TFG, deactivated after I left in 1994. At one time the 930th was the the 930th Fighter Wing that also included the A-10 unit that's now down at Whiteman. Cheers db Being responsible means sometimes pissing people off. Gen Colin Powell ret |

The A-10 unit at Whiteman is the A-10 unit that used to be at Richards Gebaur ARB in Kansas City Mo. They flew C-130s till 1982 when they became the 442d FW flying the A-10. Never a part of the 930. |

kchawg you better check with some of your old heads there. When the A-10s were at RG they were under our wing. Around 92-94 the roles were switched, the 930th FW became the 930th FG under RG. Quite a few maintenance and pilots flowed back and forth between the two units. cheers db Being responsible means sometimes pissing people off. Gen Colin Powell ret |

Jetman, can't make the airshow. I'm at Kirkuk AB in Iraq and won't be home for a while. Also our people here that worked with Wilbur and Orville say that the 930th was our sister unit much as NO is now, but we were always the 442d. |
