Anyone know if any of the Hogs have had any nose art applied for OIF?
I know there are mission markings but not seen any nose art - anyone care to clarify?
I know the F-15E fraternity have had both nose art and mission makings applied.
Thanks
Kevin

Some A-10s did have nose art but not like you are thinking of...MA and CT (that I know of) carried the 9/11 "Lets roll" nose art into battle and this is the first time a standerized nose art has been used that I know of.
The main reason(s) for the aircraft not getting art in OIF was one, the 9/11 artwork, and two, OIF had no large build-up period like DS (6 months) and it was relitively short with no long periods of bordom when most art is applyed. I know some will disagree but most of the slack time came during the build-up and at the end of the conflect when your mind was either on the pending war or, at the end when home was on everyones mind.
TG, you are right ACC regs only allow nose art on bomber aircarft and not figher/attack. Now I know the Guard,Reserves, PACAF, and USAFE do not fall under this reg (that's why you guys can have door art) but, you may have something along the same lines...I'm not sure.
TG, you are also right about Pope being allowed to have the Sharks Teeth but they have a waiver from HQ/ACC because of their link to the Flying Tigers of WWII fame. This is also why they have the FT (Flying Tigers) tail code instead of the standard of two letters of the base they are assigned, which for Pope should be PE, PO, PP or something like that.
You also have the Warthog face on the A-10s at Barksdale but I'm not sure if they require a waiver for that or not. There is also the Black Panther on the engines of SP which is a form of nose art, again if they have a waiver or not (or if they need one) I'm not sure.
Hawg166, I will not go into why we would not approve a waiver for your jet but I will say it was the right thing to do.
Ugly but well hung!
