Can the Litening II pod be used on all A-10A's or does the aircraft have to be modified. Also are the FLIR & CCD images displayed on the standard Maverick screen or onto the HUD. During OIF was the use of the Litening TGP considered a success. If this is sensitive stuff I understand.

I do have to call this one off, the operation and capibilities of the Lightning pod should not be talked about here.

Ugly but well hung!

The Lightning is an ATFLIR pod. It displays its imagery on the CCD/MFD. This unit does not Provide "HUD Night Vision" Their is a secondary unit for this, that the a10 is not equipped for.

As Dice stated Any technical details required to retrofit the lightning pod to the A10 SHould not be Discussed.

As for the success's of the POD. Ive heard only Positive things concerning this peice of equipment. Some F16 Reserve units have been flying with these pods for years. The Navy F18E Squadrons are outfitted with these as well.
