If any of you are familiar with the great stuff from 21st Century Toys Xtreme Detail line, you'll be excited to know they're going to be releasing a 1:18 Scale A-10 Warthog later this year.

Here are some unpainted prototype pics:

As you can see, this is gonna be one hell of a big plane!!!

Luckily for those not inclined with an airbrush, this baby will come assembled, painted, and weathered much like the rest of the 21st Century XD line...

Price will be anywhere from $49.95-$69.95

This thing is several feet across in either direction...a monster!

Can't wait for it's release.

Sgt Goose - You'll be able to pick one up at Toys R Us or www.SmallBluePlanet.com. There are about 50 other online retailers who carry the XD line. They're expecting it to hit stores later this year (perhaps around Christmas). Definitely watch for it, it will be awesome!

Couple of question, are you sure that's 1/10 scale, It looks more like a 1/20 form the picture above? It would be nice to have a pic with someone in the photo to give scale. Are the munitions removeable, a must for airbrushing the airframe, correcting the load-out, and detailing the weapons!

If you can get it prepainted what paint scheems (green/gray) and unit makings will be avalible?

The deatil looks nice from the picture above but I guess I will have to do the NVG and EGI mods myself!!!

*edit* OK I reread the post and see it 1/18 scale, my bad, don't know where I got 1/10 from!

Ugly but well hung!

Sorry couple more questions, what is the model made of and how heavy is it also, does it have landing gear or must be be hung for display? I also have an A-10 website and would be glad to post the upcomming release but, would like to have a few pics of one painted so the costermer can see what he's getting.

Ugly but well hung!

It is 1/18 scale. 21st Century Toys Xtreme Detail line is 1/18 scale only. It is made of plastic, with rubber wheels that retract into their bays. It will come with an action figure. It comes painted, weathered, and partially assembled (clip on the wings, tail, and munitions). I would figure it will be at least as large as their P-38 Lightning.

21st usually re-releases all of its planes and tanks with repaints, so you'll see a couple different paint scheme variations.

I would like to see the grey low visability scheme with the sharks teeth. Go to the GroundPounder's message board for more info: http://www.gpxd.com

That's basically what happened to me after I discovered the XD line and Forces of Valor lines. I just didn't have time to build models anymore and this new stuff was as good or better than I could ever hope to do constructing them myself. They are simply fantastic.
