I will be adding a patch section to the Hog Pen this week with unit patches both pre and post Desert Storm. I have 90% of all A-10 wings and most of the units both past and present (also general A-10 patches), here's a peak....

Are you going to only put up pics of your patches or do you want us to send you some of ours? I will wait to see what you post, then can send you pics of others if you'd like. Get a hold of Gary Coots as well, he is THE MAN when it comes to patches and a great guy to boot!

My collection is somewhere around 150 patches at the moment, but I limit myself to flightsuit patches mainly because I already spend way too much money on patches already!

Cheers! M2

p.s. When you put "New patch section coming to the HP," I immediately wondered what it had to do with "Hewlett-Packard"?!? I just got a new HP computer and have been pulling my crewcut out trying to build a mini-network between it and my old computer to transfer files over. Then I realized you meant "Hog Pen" and felt like a complete goof. I really need to get more sleep!

I'm going to post pictures of A-10 related patches, a lot of the pictures I have are not images of patches I own but I got the image from the USAF historical center. I will post anybody's patch as long as it's A-10 related.

Thought you were in the Alamo city? Take a laptop with ya?

Anyhow, I have about 150 A-10 patches at the moment, some rare, most common, but all pretty cool. When you get home drop me a line and I can email them over to you. I have pics of all, each file is only about 20KB or so (I purposely save them small), but that still ends up being over 3MB of pics. If you can handle that large of an email, or want me to send them in smaller chunks, let me know.

Cheers! M2

Here's my cubicle from a place I used to work at a few years ago. I had the walls completely covered by the time we went out-of-business, all purchased off eBay.

Dice, I have a big envelope full of patches. If you'd like me to send them to you, you can pick out the ones you'd like and send the rest back to me.

Are you interested in selling any of those or the extras you have? I see some I haven't got, like the West Demo Team and the far right patch in the second row. Drop me a line at captmadmax@yahoo.com

Cheers! M2

Not a great pic, but I will try and post it anyway. Here is my A-10 patch collection, beautifully displayed on a govt-issued wall shrunk that anyone who has been to Europe will remember....

And yes, that is an afro wig on top of the shrunk (don't ask), as well as an iron. As I said it isn't a great pic, I didn't have time to clean up before taking it, but the main thing is the patches. I have a few more I bought over the weekend, as well as some inbounds from Gary Coots, that I will have to find someplace to put.

Cheers! M2

Hi Dice

If you are interested I have about 150 (at the last count) patches that relate to teh 81st TFW and its related support squadrons that were based at RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge in the UK, including FOL, competition patches and airshow patches. If any of these would be any use let me know and I'll send you some scans.

best wishes for Xmas and 2004 to you all

Jon

Hey Weasel...Got any more of the Myrtle Beach patches as shown in the lower left of your cubicle pic? I haven't seen that on before.

I'm up to 179 A-10 patches, I posted them on the HP photo web site if you are interested...go to http://hpphoto.com with the account name of 'M2_patches' (case sensitive and with the underscore) and the password 'warthog' (I know, really original...but easy to remember!). Then under 'view album' select 'M2's A-10 patches.' It is easiest if you 'show all'

By the way there are 180 pics of my 179 patches, the extra is the Conn ANG bunny patch upside down! But I do have some more patches on the way, to include a 509 TFS patch (Bentwaters era) and Philippine made 78 TFS Bushmasters and a 25 FS, as well as a few others from Quizmo's. I am also going to a militia show in Wavre (south of Brussels) tomorrow morning after work and there is a dealer from the UK who is bringing some GUNSMOKE and other A-10 patches over for me.

I just realized there is one patch missing but it is too late for me to figure out which one it is as I have to get up for work in less than 5 1/2 hours, so in the mean time here is all but one!

Cheers! M2

I know what you mean, I am sitting here in damp dreary and dark Belgium working for the Army and pretty much being miserable across the board. I have ACSC to complete and the new AF PT test to get ready for, yesterday I ran in near-freezing temps and pissing down rain, all the time trying to avoid the ice and huge puddles on the track. Oddly enough, all that is one of the reasons I collect A-10 patches, as the fun of hunting them down and getting them brings a little joy into my life to offset the shit I get from work.

Cheers! M2

Hey Dice

I just got 19 new patches in the mail today, and more on the way. I'll post them to my hpphoto.com account shortly, I think you have the details to access it but if you don't email me and I will send them to you. This should put me at around 214 or so patches. Sweet...

Cheers! M2

In Weasel's pic there is a USN-style MBAFB patch that someone was interested in. Well, it isn't the exact same but you can buy hats with a similar patch from http://www.flagsoftheworld.com/Hats/AirForce/index.php?COOKIESET=1#

Now, who's up for swapping some patches? I have a decent collection of extras that I am willing to give up to add something to my collection. If interested, send me an email!

Cheers! M2

Just reviving this old thread, and letting everyone know that my patch collection is up to 322 at the moment with a few on the way...

Maybe I am a bit too much into this hobby!
