We have a picture of an A-10 on our screensaver at work, and someone asked me this question recently, since I couldn't answer I figured I'd ask someone that could. On the nose of the warthog there is a white marking that resembles the letter H laying on it's side, what is the purpose of it? Thanks guys.

THis is where the Air to Air refueling Recepticle Door is located. It is used as a guide for the Refueling Boom operator to align his boom to the correct location. Combat aircraft with an Air to air refueling capability, have their refueling recepticle located in differnt places. It serves simply as a guide.
