Guys I sent prkiii a couple of pics to post. We had a great pig roast last night and as soon as I log-off here I'm off to the flight line and the range. We may get rain today (no supprise here in LA) but we hope to get the comp. done! Yes I have a massive hang-over but I'm also having a blast!! Anybody visting here looking for me I'm in the La Quinta hotel just outside the "base". I will be at the "mudbugg" cook tonight and I will have my ACC/DR hat on. More tomorrow.... HMFIC |

I live about 2 hours away from Alexandria in Bossier City (home of Barksdale AFB). I'm thinking about getting up early tomorrow and driving down there for the fly-in/airshow, but I don't know many details. What time does this start at? What time will the airfield be opening to the public? Any info is appreciated, thanks. |

Good morning guys, I have a muddbug/coors lite hang-over the size of the whole Hawg ramp! Also maybe be coming down with a cold because of being wet all day yesterday. They only got 8 sorties up yesterday and today looks even worst. It's raining cats and dogs so I'm going to go around the base and try to take some pics of the old base buildings. Got to meet and talk to MR. Hank Caruso last night (didn't know he was going to be here) and he showed me some of his up-coming Hawgs work and they are going to be outstanding! He's doing a Hawgsmoke drawing which will be the cover of his 05 calender. He's also going to send me some of his older A-10 stuff and some pics he took years ago. If it keeps raining I will send prkiii some more pics this afternoon. More to come on the flying and how they are going to settle Hawgsmoke 04. HMFIC |

Well guys the comp was rained out yesterday. We got a good gully-washer all day and as I sure anyone who's been here (or stationed here) knowns it can rain big time in LA. The jets (and me) leave this morning and Barksdale will retain the Hawgsmoke title. There's talk of having it next year instead of two years but that's all up in the air. It was not all bad news and some good things cmae out of the down time yesterday, I will give you guys a full report as soon as I can. I got everything I was hoping for and more from this trip so I'm good with it!! I can say one thing for sure there are a lot of people who feel there some unfinnished business to take care of down here in LA..... HMFIC Edited by - Dice on May 02 2004 03:26 AM |
