Anybody have ideas on where a thermos bottle from the original A-10 cockpit might be located? Would like to secure for a restoration project.

Wow, now there's a request you don't see everyday. I've not seen a thermos bottle in the 12 years I've worked on the hog, but I'm sure if it's to be found the guys here at WT will help you out.

Good Luck

The aircraft that came new from the factory didnt have the bottles installed. We tried several times to order them but that didnt work.

THE ONLY THING I REMEMBER IS THAT THEY WENT ON THE PORT SIDE (1) AND THE CLAMPS MADE A GREAT PLACE TO STORE HELMET BAGS ROOLED UP.

If anyone can come up with a part number you should at least be able to come up with the drawing that will have the specs on the bottle.
Might be able to find one that is close.

On the other hand, in my 20+ years we never used them with the bottle and if there are any that go back to the beginning that can remember, I don't think they ever did. To put a bottle in for a restoration project wouldn't be true to form.
Cheers

No we didnt use them in the beginning....goose is right on the location and the unofficial use of the mount. Great place for forms on cross country flights.

Yeah dittos Goose the 'thermos bottle' clamps remained there on the port side just next to the wire bundle trough. They were removed however when the EGI mod came about because the DTC storage case is in its place.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Maybe you can find a Dukes of Hazzard lunch box with a thermos and use that! <img src=newicons/tard.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

Would that be a Duke O' Hazard with the nude Daisy Duke in raised alluminum to accentuate her lines ? I always wanted one of those.

I found the drawing in the TO but no part number anywhere else. Sometimes you hit a home run sometimes you strike out. Thanks for the serious replies.

Dice,
Can't you look it up on the computerized drawings? Look for the part number of the strap or an associated part and you should be able to find the general drawing of that area.
