Jackb, you just make my day sometime. [banana] I don't know why I love door art so much but, I do, and this is a great door. I love the red on a black background, simple but effective...much like the A-10.....A. 8)

Nice! Plain but effective!
75th....almost feels like home! I was in 75th Jan 83 thru Jan 86.
I kow birds are shifted around now what with the gulf battles and stuff. We had 80-140, 141, 142, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153...........and others!
THen of course we ended with the 82's.......224, 225, 226.

Can we go back in time and relive the 80's again? Some of us might have done things a litttle differently!

prkIII, I'd love to see the old base with Hawgs on the ramp again and maybe stop-by the per-tee bar outside base housing but, Moody is a bit out of the way for me.

Maybe I'll look through the globle and drop james an email, can't hurt to have another contact down there.

Dice, your getting old son, the Par Tee was outside the gate at Shaw and is still in operation, My Sister-in-law is currently a bartender there. As for the Hogs on the ramp at moody, the next time I'm down there I'll carry the camera with me and squeeze off a few pictures for you.

The flightline's changed quite a bit since the 70th was here. The hogs are on the south end of the ramp... and we have sunshades.

ROFL, you're right Hitler. Damn as the years pass the past gets dimmer. Thanks for the Par Tee link, brings back some good old memories. 8)

Jack, the Vipers where on that end of the ramp when we were stationed there. Is the base any bigger now (Hitler)? As I remember it was pretty small for a three squadron unit...but the again...there were the F-16s and our A-10 there at the same time.

isn't that the truth. :P

Yeah the base has gotten bigger, but not the flightline portion of it. The Hawgs are now sitting where the 68th, 69th and the two rows we had for the 70th. Only differance is they're faceing the runway now instead of on an angle.

Yeah I had to laugh when I saw that they all had covers on the ramp....I can't count how many dies you died of heat or when the wonderful storms rolled through....ah...those where the days...hopefully I'll be doing it again (as an officer) when the 76th is activated!

Damn, those are some fancy sunshades too! Are the covers solid? I know ours and DM's are a squared shaped and the external cover is a mesh material, which allows rain, dust, and the occasional \"bird bomb\" to drop through. Looks like a hell of a set up down there.

The covers are like a plastic fabric, liek a really thick tarp. Nothing gets through them.

I wish. It's terrible in the afternoon when we come in on swings because the sun shines directly into them as it's setting. It does help the light-alls alot though. We just put one in-between each spot and point it up and the sunshade reflects the light back down all over the spot nice and evenly.
