Hi-res: http://www.moody.af.mil/shared/media/ph ... 2G-006.jpg

Note the tail number 226 (for A-10C 80-0226, 74th FS, ex 190th FS) on top of the ladder.

Original USAF photo caption: MOODY AIR FORCE BASE Ga. -- Capt. Joseph Runci, 74th Fighter Squadron A-10C Thunderbolt II pilot, climbs down from his aircraft here July 30. Captain Runci returned to his wife and son after a five-month deployment to Afghanistan. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Joshua Green)

 What's the reason, Dice-man? BTW: This artwork is signed by D. S[...] in 2005. Anybody who can tell me full name and rank of the artist?

Because it's assigned to ACC which doesn't allow door art. They have painted over all the doors at Moody already and the only reason this one wasn't painted over is because it was deployed.

The artist name is/was David Schwab. What JJ you collecting door art now?

Thanks for your immediate reply, Dice-man! Very helpful. Question: Why ACC not allows ladder door art on A-10s? (That's absolute new to me). BTW: I'm interesting on the Hog in a full spectrum, including artwork and also flight simulations. On my blog, I'm currently focused on A-10 news (including Afghanistan combat deployments). But Warthog News will further expand... And: I'm really interested in A-10 artwork.

JJ - plain and simple, it's against regulations for ACC aircraft to have Nose Art, which includes ladder door art. This has been in the reg's going back for \"Several\" years. If you want more information about it, I'd suggest searching through the threads on this forum I know it's been discussed a lot.

That's putting it politely.
