I show the below art on aircraft 78-0697 which was stationed at Myrtle Beach until it's move to Pope. The jet is painted gray and I don't beleive any of the "beaches" jets got painted gray pry to the base closing, wonder if the door was there and photographiced, after moving to Pope?

Also is/was the below "updated" door painted on the same jet during an AEF rotation? The date on the lower corner of the door is 2003, any help?

Did a Google and came up with this for the 387th AEG...

http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?storyID=42403252

How does this tie into an A-10 ladder door???

You know I just looked at this "door" closely and guess what...it's not an A-10 ladder door! Must have been a sign made for the 387th AEG based on the Molly Hatchet album cover...man do I feel stupid!!

It does have A-10s in the background so there must be some connection????

Dice I wanna say I know what that door was on. Not sure if it was a hootch or a tent but let me pick the brains tomorrow at work and see ifin I can figure it out. I have seen that over in Jordan but I dont remember where.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

I have in my presence a new video about the 387 AEG. It is roughly 90 minutes long. Our base put it together. It goes to allt eh shops and workcenters during our time at OIF except it doesnt even hit on the flightline. It has a section of just cool stuff that the video guy found while walking around the base. I wil se if I can see anything in it. And yes my freind I will get you one post haste for your archives.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

That 387th AEG video is long overdue, it's been a year and a half. It's like waiting for the next Guns N' Roses albumn to be released!
The 387th AEG was part of the 410 AEW during OIF, comprised of ANG units flying with the LITENING pod. The 131 EFS was the A-10 component, the other was 120th EFS an F-16 Rainbow ANG squadron located at another airbase.

dice,

I do believe we had a few jets painted grey befor the beach closed, not very many if there were any, but i do think there were a few. You are correct in the statement that most were changed over when the move was to pope
