Not sure I remember you Goose? ALthough I remember a Golden Flow catching on over at Red, I wasnt aware that alot of guys swapped AMU's? Must have been after my departure?
Steve "Duff" Duffell followed me to Nellis. I was assigned to the 4477th Test & Eval Sq. "Red Eagles". Steve was in the 4450th with the F-117 program prior to its going public. Last I knew of Duff he had transferred to either Pope or Myrtle Beach? I was told a couple different things!
What of some of the others from the 75th? Steve Waters, Bill Brock, Mike Cantrell, Paul Rohlman, Les Dillow, Ronnie Miller, Clay Kendrick, T-Bone (Georgia Boy cant remember his real name!), Steve ? Big guy from Nagadoches Texas we called Tex, Carey Hixson, just a few of the gang I hung with. I roomed with Barry "Shakey Jake" Jacobs (Com/Nav troup).
Last I knew Steve Waters is in Texas working on the Osprey program. I ran into himn a couple years back while still in Vegas....he stayed at the Casino I worked in while enroute to Eddy to do some flight testing with the Osprey. Paul seperated but then reinlisted and became a flight engineer. ALthough I havent talked to him, I did stop by his moms a couple years back on my drive back to Vegas from Illinois. He was at McGuire, although now retired and back in that area.
How about Msgt Thomas E Richards? Probably the best damn supervisor I ever had in the 8 yrs I was active duty! Tom worked my weekend duty at Christmas so I could drive back to my home in Illinois and see my ailing grandmother who was here from England. Unfortunately, that was the last time I saw her and I still hold a warm spot for Tom for doing that for me! That aside he was still a great guy!

I see your in Illinois? What part?
I was raised in Cairo and am probably moving back there in the next 3-6 months. Going to a small farm community (100 people) a little south of Joliet. Town of Emington.

I see looking around here that alot of folks have mentioned Sid "The Kid"! You know Sid was one of those guys you either liked or totally hated! Not a bad guy at times......but usually a total wiseass!

Whatever happened to Henry? Dont remember his last name. Weird dude always had a paper grocery bag for lunch everyday...FULL! We usually found it contained Mayonaisse Sandwiches....yuck!

He was a blast when we went to Bentwaters in 83! Some great stories from TDY's with him!

Guess I've rattled long enough!

Which Paul Rohlman are you talking about Bob?
Paul or "Mr Goodwrench" as we called him was with us over in RED and I went to the Gulf with him.
Paul left before the war started, actually taking him out of the "Sandbox" I have picture of me and him.
He was still at England because they put his traing on hold in 3-91,I left before he did.
He was last at McGuire AFB but ended-up in Little Rock AFB with Sid the KId.
He was in Job Control.
Carl "Duff" Duffell was the one I knew and he went to the F-117,so you knew "MaC" then and MSGT Winkey or we called him "WAAAAAAA"

I know most of those guys your talking about Mike Cantrell crossed trained to C-141's and I served with him at Travis AFB 4-91-6-91 Until I left the USAF.
Mike was in RED AFTER I got to EAFB LA 4-85

I'm about 1-1/2 hour from where your going to be in Illinois.
I live over in Watseka just south of Kankakee.

We'll have to go off line and compare notes

Hogsnort, I see by your guestbook entry in the Flying Tigers web site that you were the crewchief on 80-0141 while assigned to the 75th TFS. While I was there, I was the original first crewchief on 141s sister jet 80-0142. My asst.crewchief was Jim ''Mac'' McGreanor.I took receipt of the jet, the day it landed at EAFB from the factory, and crewed her till I pcsd in Oct 81.I saw her for the first time since then at the rain soaked HogSmoke competition at England Air Park last year. She is the West Coast Demo Team Commanders Jet, and was flown in for display. Got pictures from all angles thanks to the Commander himself. Also see you are from Ill, so am I,up in Northeast corner just outside Waukegan, in Lake County.

Heya Goose!

Paul I am talking about was from Arkansas and drove a 70's Ford P/U, orange & white in immaculate condition. He hated wearing shoes! Pure Country Boy!

I was thinking Mike Cantrell left EAFB before I did. He went to some program at Eglin I think?

Goose you mentioned something in a post I saw about cotton mouths from those drains in blue section......I remember hearing tel of that although never witnessed myself. I do remember attempting to catch a oppossum or 2 and a few armadillos on the trim pads!

And of course on TDY to crooked creek in 83 we had a few hedge hogs wanting to hide out with us!
While at George for NTC, we always had the rattlers wanting to hide near the tires, staying warm near the brake stacks. That could make for an interesting morning when you kick a chock before the sun comes up and a rattler pops out!
ANother name popped into my brain cells from that time.........Mark "M-10" Machajewski. Mark's wife Toni was in a specialist back shop? I wanna say com/nav but I dont remember for sure? I stuck him with the M-10 nickname for his last name......."M" and ten other letters in it!

Rayboy.......I remember hearing that name almost everyday for my early days at EAFB........Seems you were stuck in Sids mind pretty good! He relived the "Old Days" alot!
I spent a vast amount of time on the birds at that end of the ramp. 140,141,142, 152, 153. YOur gonna make me find old pictures boxes and take a gander at them!
I see Randall Thornburgs name posted in some old stuff. Attempted to e-mail him by the addy is no good.
How could anyone ever forget Thorny?
I'll always remember him from dove hunting. A few of us went to a field somewhere out near Cotile and shot, or attempted to shoot a few doves from a fence line. I couldnt hit a flying dove with my damn shotgun, but Randy loaded a full vest everytime using a .22 rifle! Thorny was a great shot!

THATS PROBABLY WHERE I HEARD THE NAME,I WAS IN A FLT RED AND AFTER THE BIG "GOLDEN FLOW" THE HAD MORE OLD 75TH CREWCHIEFS THAN 76TH ONES,
SO YOU KNEW PAT JACKSON,SWAMPBIRD, FROM THE 75TH THEN? AND OF COURSE OLD "SID" TOO
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

Ah, another blast from the past! You must be talking about Sid Rawdon, I think that was his name? Seem to remember he PCS's up here to Little Rock when England was shut down.

And yes, I'm back! <G>

GOOSE, I see you mentioned Sid ''The Kid '' Rawdon in your post. Do you or anyone out there in ''Hogland''know what ever happened to him, or where he might be? When He and I were in the 75th together he had an old Ford Fairlane that I was always helping him to keep running. It was RayBoys Repair Shop in the dorm parking lot.Right there under the big oak tree next to the vending machines.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

Sid Rawdon PCS'd up here to Little Rock AFB back in '92 or so. I forget what unit he was with, although I seem to recall he was in the 50th AMU here at Little Rock. Sid Rawdon, Cecil Wyatt, Emmett <sp?> Everest, and several others from the 23rd FW PCS'd to Little Rock when England AFB was shut down.

I recognise the name Youngblood, but am having trouble placing a face with it.

It's really sad. A couple of years after I got out of the AF, went to one of the air shows at LRAFB. Ran into Cecil Wyatt there. Knew him. Knew where I knew him from. Just couldn't think of his name to save my life. Finally, I had to ask him: "I know who you are, but I just can't remember your name to save my life!" "Cecil Wyatt!" Of course!

Sheesh! That happens more and more nowadays. <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>

Where the heck did you guys come from? I think of old England AFB and you guys quite often since I retired. Man those were some good times. T-Bone was Theron Cook and I remember Derick "Deke" Miller and "Big Al". As for me, I went from the Air Force to the Coast Guard as a Flight Engineer on the 130, then got picked up for OCS and went to flight school in Pensacola and flew C-130's for the CG until I retired in 2004. I now fly 727's for FedEx and live in North Carolina.

Where did you end up after Alexandria?

CG Flyer, Welcome to W/T from one of the'' older old guys''from the 75th AMU. Was there 77-81. Was on the A-7s, and then the A-10s.Crewed 80-142 till I PCS'd in Oct 81.I see you mentioned Derek Miller. He was in my flight. Drove a Mustang I think, and was from Fla.How bout Jim McGreanor, Jerry Ducote, Don Frazier? Willy Harris was flight chief. You might have heard someone mention my car I drove, The Original Brown Bomb, a 66 Ford Falcon. Retired in 86.
Pull up a seat, grab a cold one, and dont be afraid to jump in at any time. Once again ''Welcome''.
