I'll have to go through my records but I may be able to help with some of these answers. Give me a day or two and I'll see what I can come up with.
Just remembered a little more info, Dice correct me if I'm wrong
When the A-10's initally arrived at Shaw they were assigned to the 507th Tactical Air Control WIng, 20th Tactical Air Support Squadron. The 20th TASS and 21st TASS (flying OV-10's at the time) later combined to create the 21st Fighter Squadron which eventually became the 55th Fighter Squadron. I'll have to ck my records a little more indepth to come up with actual dates.
Initally we were assigned to a maintenance squadron, then as the Air Force changed mentality we transfered over to the Fighter Squadron

80-0170 (later moved to Moody with the 70th FS, Moody AFB until it untimely demise.
