Does anyone know how to locate a specific aircraft? My husband was the first crew chief of a brand new A-10 # 79-0139 when it arrived at Davis-Monthan in 1980. It was assigned to the wing commander, a Brig. General who's name I've forgotten. I would like to find out where the plane is now and where it has been in the last 20+ years. Any suggestions? Thank you

Are you still around and did you get an answer to your question?

Wow, I can't believe I found this question and can actually contribute - what a small world!
I crewed 79-0139 while in the 75th FS at Pope AFB, NC. It was a great jet - one of my favorites. The stick actuators always said it was a little faster than the others. At least it was still there in 1997. It may have been at Myrtle Beach before that, I believe Pope got some of their jets upon closure. Are you asking simply out of curiosity? I may be able to get you more info if you'd like and I do have a few pics.
