Got a little (well...HUGE) treat Thursday as two QF-4Es from Tyndall landed at my base for a gas n go on their way to Duluth MN for an airshow this weekend. I got it in good with our TA so I asked if they needed help...and they did so I got to crew a Phantom for the first time in about 18 years. I was a Phantom Phixer (F-4G Weasel Keeper) for six years when I first joined the USAF in 1986 so this was fun! I took a few pictures. :)

First weasle, let me just say how much YOU SUCK for still being able to work on these birds.

Second, that you so much for posting these great pics. I have a good friend here at work who used to fly F-4's, and I'll be sure to pass on the link here for him. I'm sure he'll love seeing the old birds still up and roaring down the runways.

Though I never worked F-4s, it was the F-4C we had at Lowery AFB in the TAC Shack that was the first AF Figher I ever laid hands on.

You just gotta love the \"Rhino\". I crewed Ds '78-'80. Followed that with 16s, six years on the \"Hog\" then 111s. I'll always be a phixer.

Great looking jets! I especially love the single-seat configuration!

Did you happen to get either of the pilots' names? A good friend of mine, and former 91 TFS Hog Driver flies F-4s at Holloman.

Sorry Coach I didn't get their names. My pilot was a civilian (I'm sure a retired Phlyer) and the other a LtCol...both were out of Tyndall.
