The first operational Stealth planes are leaving the sky.

I remember 1993, when 8 planes came special to the Netherlands for the first European (i think also oversea) practice with an other country. It was by airbase Gilze Rijen. It was sunny and it was great to see them fly. After that year i saw almost on every show one or two in flying or static. But the first time, that was special.

I would have to check but I believe there were 83 or 84 jets built not 59.

Well they didn't stick around very long. Maybe if they'd put a 30mm in the nose.

I remember seeing my first F-117 right after they unveiled them at England AFB they did that because when they launched them against Panama they used EAFB for their staging point, plus they would use \"Our Firing Range\" for practice.
Those nights were always great, 1 hour notice to \"GET-OFF\" the FLT LINE.
Leave your toolboxes, give the truck the keys, and GO HOME!

When we got our first look the afternoon before they showed everyone they pulled one out on to the \"South Ramp and we all went \"Flying over there\"
then seeing them the first time we all [shock] :?: :?: thought it was a Joke at first and that it was a \"Batman movie Prop\" but we had several EX F-117 Crewdawgs and they said \"Nope its real\"

Seems like yesterday doesn't it? but they were already what some 10 years + old at the time.

Yes I know their WAY AHEAD OF THE F-117 now.

What did they call them places , Dreamland, Dreamworld and I don't remember the other place the \"WAYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOUUUUT THERE ONE.

The TOP SECRET PLACES. We had several folks who worked in those areas that came to EAFB most came from the F-117 section 1 didn't and they said \"He went out farther\"

I just know if you were being looked at to go out there the FBI showed-up at work with the OSI and asked ALOT OF QUESTIONS about you.

Never wanted any part of it.

But its ashame that she's going to bone yard, like the SR-71. We probably wish we still were using them today.
Now that was the sound of \"Freedom\" those \"Boom ,Boom,Boom from it slowing down over Korea heading back to Kadena .
