It is always impressive to see one B-52 in start or landing. I wish i could see this in real. Fantastic, what a noise. |

I saw this in person about 4 weeks ago when I was back home in Bossier on quarter break.....they had a NORE.....it is basically a warm up for an inspection.....boy it was an amazing site to see 10 cart starts and Elephant walk in person, then a BUFF every 15 seconds.....from the time the crew left the alert center until the time the first plane was off the ground was around 10 minutes, it went by very quick......Keep in mind though, that a Cartridge Start or Cart Start, as it is called, is the most dangerous way to start engines because it is an actual detonation of a charge that bursts air into the starter of the engines. It is a cool site, but also pretty dangerous |
