I'm planning to model A-10A 78-0666 and I have a few questions.
First, are the markings in the Tamiya 1/48 kit accurate?
Second, the markings in the Tamiya kit have 666 as the Wing CO's jet. While it had Capt Star as the pilot, was it a regular line jet?
Also, does anyone have any pics of 666 other than what is at the Hawg Pen?

I think that Dice is your best bet to find those pics. Also if you send an email to Horido he could probably answer any marking questions you have.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Don't know would have to see the decal sheet.

If it has a Capt as the pilot it would not be the wing's CO jet. It could have been in "transision" but normaly if they take the time to put the CO colors on it they would have changed the name to the CO as pilot.
I know 666 was a "regular line jet" for part, if not most, of its time at MB

Thanks for the input Dice. As for the Tamiya sheet, I don't have it in front of me, but it has the four color tail flash like on the 354th command jets, 354th TFW in Black letters and gray shadows, and it has the 356th patch as teh squadron patch. It seems to be painted up like any other 354th command jet i've seen, also like 79-0097 that's on display at MB now. The pilot and crew is what I'm curious about the most. I forgot the ground crew names, but the pilot is Col J Dallagher (sp?)
