Hey any of you hogletts into geocaching? I just got my GPS reciever and have started finding caches in my local area. Dont knock it if you havent tried it.

I pretty much just use my HD to store pix of US troops blowing stuff up.

Mudd as a pilot I am sure you are familar with GPS. You must have a GPS reciever to particpate. Definition below:

Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache.

Type in you zip and you would be amazed at how many caches are near your home.

Yeah, I do have a Couple Garmin handhelds, I'll have to check that out.


Sounds like this could be a fun advanced navigation course for Boy scouts, or for a camping trip for the family.
