As an aside, you'll notice it doesn't matter if you use your real name or select a handle, somebody will give you a new one anyway...<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
Yeah, I hang out on enough forums to know how that works. I use that username on several forums (FSM is the only one I don't and it's just because I'm to stubborn to ask the mods to change it).

I think you're being a bit modest saying anybody can do it if they apply themselves, I tried enough models in my youth to know I just ain't cut out for it.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
The absolute, unquestioned, most important thing you can have building a model is lots and lots of patience.
For example ... The TEWS units in an F-15C behind the cockpit have numerous wiring connections coming of them (obviously <img src=newicons/tard.gif border=0 align=middle>). Wires are easy; drill a hole, poke the end of a wire in some Zap, poke it in the hole. But I noticed in a photograph that these cables immediately turn 90 degrees out of the unit and have some aluminum sheaths so they don't break where they bend back. I can do that, says I, so I sat there tonight drilling holes down the center of a short piece of 0.025" solder and then bent the solder to simulate that sheath. Things like that really tend to get noticed, and they aren't that hard to do. It just takes time and patience.

All the emails back have been of a similar vein, along the lines of "amazing"...<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
Tell them that I'm truly grateful for the comments, they mean a lot. That model was tough to build, but now that it's done I can look back and say I enjoyed most of it. I still have to build the GAU-8. It's fully detailed in the kit but hidden if you install it in the fuselage so I'll build it separately.
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Now that you've visited, we hope you stay around and post some more examples of your work.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
Thanks for the welcome, and I will certainly check back from time to time. I might even try to tackle converting an A-10A to a "C" model sometime!
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> Thanks Scott, I enjoyed helping! Also you are welcome here anytime no A-10 ID required.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>
Cool, thanks Dice. Wish I had an A-10 ID but my life took a different turn. Any time I can return the favor, don't hesitate to ask. Be glad to help any of you guys who want to build a Hawg.
