I guess we were due, got about 3/4 of an inch of Ice Thursday night No power, broken branches etc...

I got about 2 hours sleep from when I went to bed Thursday night 22:00 till 20:00 last night Friday.

Power finally Died 0300 friday morning and I was already having trouble sleeping hearing all the \"Crashing\" out side.

Lucky for us we didn't have any lines broken off but those \"Chink Elms\" didn't fair to good. The Township owns them but They sit in my yard. bocked the road so I got out the \"Golden Bear\" winch and started dragging branches away.

But the road was pretty clear everywhere else my neighbor already had cleared the Bridge a tree feel across it.

But after about 12 hours Power was back up and everything is Ok. We have a Electric CoOp so if the power goes down They go into action along with all the private electricans and companies to repair it.

The best part, I don't have to prune any trees!!!!!

How are you guys south of me??

We got about a little over a foot of packed light white powered up in the northeast yesterday and will take that any day over the ice or heavy wet packed white powered.

We had a really bad ice storm in the mid 90s, but it's the only one i've ever seen in Philly. It shut the whole city down for 2-3 days.

Woke up this morning to another \"1 1/2\" of rain on top of 4\" of Ice and Talk about a \"Bloody Ass mess\"

It's 36F outside still raining and now it's supposed to turn \"BITTERLY COLD\" down to 10F tonight , But on Friday it's supposed to be \"51F and Windy 28 sustained out of the SW but with GUSTS UP TO 48MPH\"
and Saturday chance of \"Sever Thunderstorms and Possible Isolated Tornadoes \"

Damn I Love Illinois Weather.!!!

Hey Matt, When I was at Alex's in 89 we got a \"ICE STORM\" 2 days before Christmas and it dropped 5\" of ICE. Then it snowed.
Nothing worst then a \"Coon-Ass\" driving on ICY Roads.

The ice storm on Christmas Eve was a pain in the ass.

And then there was that earthquake at 12:05 am on Saturday. Which was less than five minutes after I went to bed.

I was close enough to the epicenter have felt it about three minutes after going to bed & wasn't asleep.

It was reported as a 3.5, and felt as far way from the epicenter, in Salunga, as Philly and Baltimore.

It'd be better than living near Yellowstone National Park...which is a supervolcano that as of this week, has had 400 earthquakes.

It could explode and be a modern day Krakatoa.

If that happens it won't matter much where you live in the US i don't think. Long term, we're all in for some serious hurt if that bad boy goes up.

You ever see the Discovery Channel Doc on what would happen If that Happens?

Snipe Your Right it wouldn't make any differance where you live, well unless you live within 500 miles, but then the \"Shock wave\" at the 2x the speed of sound then the rocks the size of \"Cars\" and then 2 weeks of Falling soot for everyone else within 1200 miles.

Not to mention probable \"sympathy\" 'quakes (think New Madrid, San Andreas, etc).

We would all be \"Screwed\" but I have Earth Quake insurance but then again the Insurance company would be gone, then the New Madrid fault would kick in and then the \"Quake\" would cause \"Lake Michigan \" to Drain thru most of the State towards the Mississippi River which would be flowing Backwards like in 1812 or 1816 I don't remember the year but it was the Year the whole Midwest Shook for a Year.

So just Charge up those Bills, You might get away free.

:D :D :D :D

According to google maps, I'm 1766 miles away. But may very well find myself headed towards the supervolcano, to help those who aren't so lucky.
