I'm on an MRT to Lajes right now, they had me take some pics during the launch yesterday and e-mail them to our Chief at Moody to get with PA. Usual boring AF article, but the pics aren't bad - all mine.

I prefer my pose in this group photo rather than the one they published - guess who I am hahaha.

What the heck was wrong with the jet for an MRT that large?

I like the tie down strap...the wind at Lajes was ferocious!

74th ESTA couldn't land here, so we came to turn all their jets and be an in-place advance MRT. This way if anything broke, here we are. No jumping through hoops to get a crew here after the fact when time/tankers are an issue. Only one broke, so everyone else except a few of us went back to Moody after the other A-10s left and we just finished fixing the broke one a few hours ago.

The wind is outrageous today. The water is breaking over the top of "that rock", you know the one. The one everybody seems to take a picture of and point to 'hey look at that giant rock over there"

30mm Jr has 'fond' memories of horizontal rain there.
