Mabe it is time to retire the A-10, do a little modernazation and roll out the A-10B, i'm sure that there are some new tecnologies that could be applied to the basic A-10 airframe. Mabe fly-buy-wire and improved avionics, I'm sure the radar cross section could be reduced.

Ever hear, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"
It already has fly-by-wire. It's called manual reversion, and it's our way to get back home and land or behind friendly lines so we can punch out. No other Air Force aircraft in the inventory has such a system, and it no-kidding works...after you lose two hydraulic systems, by the way.
As far as the computer version like in a Lawn Dart, screw fly-by-wire. Who gives a $#!t about that when it can go tits-up in a heartbeat and leave the pilot with no other choice but to get out of the jet? I'll take redundant hydraulics with a manual reversion, thank you very much. See? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We need something like it, but is there something that could do it better. Start with the curent hog and work from there.

We've talked about this many times in here, and there is a wish-list that Hawg drivers would love to see incorporated into the jet. Dig through some previous posts, and you can see my wish-list. Who knows, with enough mods the A-10 could be made into the A-10C (The A-10B would have to be a two-seater, according to the joint aircraft designation system).
By the way, if you start reducing the RCS, you wind up with an F-16 or F-35. For CAS, I don't want either of those. I'll let a Lawn Dart or a Super Lawn Dart (F-35) do some SEAD or DEAD and I'll apply the appropriate tactics as per the threats that remain.
