Joe, spending time at Hawgsmoke with the A-10 community has helped me understand what is so special about the Hog and the people around it, I'll be following the A-10 for as long as it's around, don't worry! Hope it goes back to Alex with the Cajuns hosting next time but wherever it is I'll be nearby.

I'm hearing HAWGSMOKE 2006 will be on neutral ground, possibly D-M or Nellis. Anyone else hear anything?

As we left Alexandria the talk was that both the Cajuns and the 303rd FS at Whiteman were both offering to host the next one. The Cajuns definately came to win Hawgsmoke, much like the 47th FS did in 2002. They won the arrival comp. I think they won the crud and they were one of the few teams to get range time so they are the nearest thing to winners they have this year. Add to that the enthusiasm of the England Air Park management who jumped right in there at the end and offered to host the next one back at England because they feel it's not really finished there yet and you have a good chance it'll be back in Alex, possibly next year!

If I find out more I'll let you all know.

Our guys said that Baltimore was going to host it in 2006. I think it really depends on whose sorry butt is in the sandbox in 2006.
