Yo Mudd,

Just found out the new house is finally getting a Broadband service so I can get into on-line blasting ...

Currently blitzing Ghost Recon on the PS2. Single player though.

But the X-Box is so cheap in the UK now, I might get one of those as well. If I can get one in under the wife's radar that is, I'll let you know.

Especially if I know there's a 'friendly' face out there waiting to get fragged.

Are there any other Hoglets that you know of that participate in a bit of on-line blasting?

I just got an XBox for Christmas, and I'm looking into some possible XBox Live action.

As it stands I've only got Halo 2, Splinter Cell and (soon) Hitman 2. Looking into a Rainbow Six-esque title shortly as well.

Stinger also has an XBox, so maybe we can all get some mad fraggin' in some time.

OK, you've convinced me.

The Broadband link is going to be company funded (home working, what a bitch) so I might use it for on-line gaming as well.

Anybody out there use the Playstaion on line? If not I'll not bother getting the network adaptor for that.

From these posts it looks like the XBox is the one to have.

Ah, GR2 isn't out on the PS2 yet.

I've Aced GR on Veteran level but again single player.

The original GR on PS had a very slow pace. Lot's of walking about followed by very intenses bursts of fraggery.

I'm guessing much like the real thing...

The reviews have suggested that GR2 is the dogs bollox when it comes to graphics and the gameplay is far faster paced all the time.

But it looks like Halo2 is the common denominator amongst the Hoglets

Does XBox live have a invited 'team' concept? Could a WT unit be established?

I have my heart set on a PS2, almost soley for the purpose of owning the last Syphon Filter game. But however long it takes takes to get a PS2, I'll probably never get tired of Syphon Filter 3 on the PS1 and the animated versions of actual groups. (Soviets, Afghan Rebels, IRA, and Afrikaners (aparthied))

Or you could use your computer and join me playing Counter Strike: Source!

That is a fun game!

I'll make a mental note to attempt getting CS:Source after getting a broadband connection @ home. Instead of camping at the library playing online x number of hours.

Current faves: Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat, Star Wars Battlefront, Far Cry, and Half Life 2. I also have a PS2 but my son uses it mostly. That system is archaic from a graphics processing power standpoint. Spoiled by my PC I suppose, though I would play online ESPN NFL 2K series...

ok so sounds like you bounce around alot. I generally use the ingame server listing. play on the "rebel resistance" server quite a bit. did you get DC Final or are you still playing DC .7?

I have to ask if Counterstrike: Source was editted in any way because of terrorism? Syphon Filter 3 was due late september, 2001. It was delayed a couple of months, and editted from a two disk, to a one disk game out of sympathy for those Americans so distraught that they couldn't handle a game based on fighting terrorists.

From what i see Lunatock, CS:Source wasn't changed at all.

One more question, does CS:Source! have a create your own main character feature?

If there's enough peeps with PS2 online & copies of Syhon Filter: The Omega Strain, then the WT Starcraft battlenet games could be taken over to PS2 online, and the battlenet coffin stuffers & a few others could possibly recreate ourselves & get to use our real voices in online games of Omega Strain.

No there is no create your own main character function on CS. But you can use your real voice to speak to the members of your team (if you have a microphone)

Its interesting to listen to especially if your on a team with friends, for now i have opted not to use the microphone......do you know how angry guys get when they find out that a girl is wiping them out!

Tock,

As soon as we move into the new place I'll be on-line with my PS2.

I'll drop you a line then.

It'll be end of Feb before we're in though.

Not many examples Lunatock, but my best one is in one game i found a great hiding place and kept sniping people on the other team. I had about 9 kills and the admin kicked me off for "unfairly wiping out his team" he told me girls shouldn't know how to handle sniper rifles.......... true i guess, i prefer anything full auto anyway!
