Definitely THE happenin' place for the region, hogsnort! A mighty metropolis. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Especially with that fancy/schmancy bridge, now.

I paid $1.95 today in Wadhams, MI. It was a special, but it was still $1.95!!! The lowest price after that is $2.09 here near Port Huron, MI.

(FYI, I did a cross country drive to the Detroit area to visit family.)

Up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where I live, the "low" averages around $2.35, but I was in the Houston area over the weekend and nearly wet myself when I got to fill up for $2.09...

That was beautiful.

Filled up this morning at $2.34 gal in Pontiac Illinois.

I dunno what they do. I just found out they wanted to put in a PA system in the Dearborn or Hamtramk area (both suburbs of Detroit) just like they have in Kuwait & Afghanistan (so they can hear the call to prayer). That got shot down real quick!

Oh, and gas was $2.05 in Port Huron today.

Still $2.90's, here.

I need to gather up some names, addresses, photos... and untracable safety shot shell and sabot rounds.

From what I see most of you are pretty lucky. Like M&M's prices in Utah, Colorado Springs was $2.75 for 85 octane. Diesel was $3.09.

All high altitude states have lower octane Snipe. You won't find 93 octane premium either, mostly it's 90 and the Bavarian Manure Wagon with 11.7/1 compression runs fine on it in the mountains.

This is from the petroleum industry website:
The higher the altitude above sea level, the lower the octane requirement. Modern computer-controlled engines adjust spark timing and air-fuel ratio to compensate for changes in barometric pressure, and thus the effect of altitude on octane requirement is smaller in these vehicles.
