I am not sure which USAF facility they would sortie from, unless it were to be Iraq or Afghanland, and I am not sure the political situation with our friendly Arab "Allies" would allow Arab soil to be a staging point, less we piss off the Shiite majority in Iraq, even if it were a crusade against the Persians. That whole region is beyond politicaly screwed right now. There are a multitude of reasons why we won't strike at Iran anytime soon. Iran is nervous that we now control their western frontiers. Uranium enrichment is the only trump card that Iran's struggling theocracy has left to play, the Ruskies are even using a sharper rhetoric. I would hedge my bets on Israel doing something before we did...

What we need is coup de at with the Shah jr comming back. We did it in the 50's when Iran attempted to nationalize the Anglo/Iranian Oil Company, why not do it again?
