On 20:00hours tonight we keep two minutes silent for those who are fallen in the second world war (soldiers and civilians). Tomorrow we celebrate the victory over Nazi-Germany. I will not forget that strangers more than 60 years ago gave their lives, so I can live in peace. Salute Dutchy ------------------------ Termites do it in the dark! (47FS Barksdale afb) |

Dutchy, My thoughts will be with them as well. I've read about the bravery and efforts of the resistance. I will always respect those who gave everything for our freedom... You're born, you keep your head down and you die. If you're lucky... |

Both my grandfathers served in Europe in WWII. One with the US 8th AF, and the other with Patton's 3d Army. My one neigbor is a Normandy veteran, and another who recently passed was a TBF Avenger belly gunner in the Pacific. To all of them, and the millions of others... <img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b343/m21sniper/OnTheJobEnhanced.jpg" border=0> <b>"One post, One Kill".</b> |

I keep 2 minutes silent for all that fallen, also for all your fallen families, neighbours, friends and other relations (from those days, till now that served). I hope generations after me will remember them also. We must keep the history alive. And mine country never did part at the Great War, but every year a make a trip to Belgium to remember that war in November. <img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle> Salute Dutchy ------------------------ Termites do it in the dark! I celebrated this holiday for four years while stationed at Camp New Amsterdam. In my humble opinion, Holland is the best of the European countries. Salute to all those that have fallen in defense of their countries. <img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle> Engineguy |
