Unfortunately I couldn't be on the ground anywhere near the border of Lebanon, getting film footage and pictures of IDF arty and IAF deliveries <i>despite</i> being told that the IDF like shooting people with cameras. I hope you told Ross were "RIGHT BEHIND HIM IN HIS TANK" Ok now let us see,its got tracks,a turret,big shells,gun sight,but IT KILLS TANKS and EVERYTHING ELSE! I guess we're all qualified The Hog is MADE LIKE A TANK,it leaves tracks of burning trucks and other targets,The Cockpit is like a Turret,its where the Gun sight is and it FIRES BIG SHELLS! So its the same. On one road in the north, we counted 20 tanks lining up and more on the way. Israeli officials said they plan to form a security zone running the length of the border with Lebanon, while sending more forces along more crossing points. They won't say how far into Lebanese territory they'll go, but some of the troops will remain until an international force is deployed and Hezbollah positions are destroyed. "They really cannot be destroyed from the air," said Maj. Michael Oren of the Israeli Defense Forces. "There's really no alternative but to send in ground forces." Soldiers Comment on Battle There was jarring evidence of Hezbollah's tactics today when more than 80 rockets struck Israel, wounding dozens and killing a 15-year-old Israeli Arab girl. For Israeli troops deployed inside Lebanon, the fight is difficult and dangerous. We spoke with a group of soldiers returning from 48 hours of intense fighting, including the rescue of soldiers from a tank destroyed in the fighting. "They are attacking us in a very organized position," one soldier said. "They know where we are coming from. They know everything. They shoot us wherever they like. It's their country." He added they are "very well armed." Now more Israeli soldiers are on the way, including an armored unit being transferred from Gaza to Lebanon. They have been told civilians have left the region where they will fight. "Over here, everybody is the army," one soldier said. "Everybody is Hezbollah. There's no kids, women, nothing." I’d be happy with a month’s visa but this morning they told me I couldn’t because I’m not a British citizen any more.” Shadow Immigration Minister Damian Green said last night: “This man has a cheek trying to come back to Britain after what he did here.” A diplomat said: “He hasn’t spoken to any of our people. But he may have been turned away by security guards patrolling the port entrance.” Anjem Choudary, Bakri’s right-hand man, said last night: “He plans to write to the British authorities and see if they will give him a visa for a passage out.” Syrian Bakri can’t return there because he faces 20 years’ jail over a coup bid. Over 20 years in the UK, Bakri sponged £300,000 in benefits. He preached violence and praised the 9/11 al-Qaeda terrorists as the Magnificent 19. Bakri, dubbed the Tottenham Ayatollah, was a member of al-Muhajiroun, which he left to form al-Ghuraba. Both have since been outlawed. |
