"^" means superscript, for 3-squared, you'd write "3" with a "2" above and to the right. Because you can't always type it that way, the notation is 3^2. Crushed under his own mental block...

I never had Algebra,wasnt required, But I can do math when it comes to my CheckBook,paycheck, and Feet and " and angles,miters etc... I failed the math (I'm with Goose. I can keep my checkbook up to date and "borrow" screws from somewhere else) and passed the science (good guesses) I hated geometry so all I'll say is: Way to go Heather. Whats sad is I had an A+ AVERAGE IN BIOLOGY my last year in School, plus an A average the other years,I even took ADVANCE PLACEMENT science with an A avg. So I was pretty PO'ed! Even after I know how the "STRING THEORY" works and can explain it.
