Go Eagles indeed, looks like another good year for them. I can only hope Trent Green shakes this week off quickly, Cheifs have a lot of potential again this year. Rams might even have a defence!! Childress's playcalling is definitely going to be an adjustment, but hopefully it's something I'll grow into. I still don't see how you can justify attempting a deep pass on 3rd and 2 on the opponent's side of the 50 with the game tied, when your running game has been consistent and you can easily pick up 1 and go for a strong 4th and 1 (assuming you don't pick it up), but apparently that's why I'm not a head coach. The resulting incompletion and 4th down punt must be what Childress was *really* aiming for, to show off those mad punting skills... riiiiight. Anyway, if nothing else I want Philly to do well this year for two reasons: 1) I have McNabb as my fantasy QB, and 2) they don't play the Vikings (during the regular season anyway). So if all goes well, it should be nice for Minnesota and the Eagles to clash in the NFC Championship game this year on the Vikings' path to the Superbowl. I just have to hope that the "Vikings' path to the Superbowl" doesn't actually end up being "walk from the kitchen with beer, chips and pizza into the living room and sit on the couch, since you're not there in person." I understand the altering of reality around football season dude. Maybe my reality is a little deluded, but so far with the addition of DE /DT Darren Howard(Saints), 1st Rd pick DT Broderick Bunkley, this new young DE who came totally out of nowhere J.Thomas(5.5 sacks in the preseason, 1 so far this season), and blossoming 2nd Year men DE Trent Cole(2 sacks Sunday), and DT Mike Patterson(led all rookie DTs in sacks last season), the Eagles D Line has looked STOUDT. They have so many stud lineman that they actually rotated the entire 1st and 2nd team lines in alternate series on Sunday, and totally dominated the line of scrimmage(Held the backs to about 50yds rushing and sacked Carr 5 times). Adding LB Shawn Barber back into the mix will help(he is first backup at all LB positions), and 2nd year OLB Matt McCoy is one of those undersize superfast sideline to sideline type LBs. All world MLB Jerimiah Trotter will again be roving the field for the Eagles.
Pro Bowler Lito Sheppard just got hurt, but the Eagles swear the kid backing him up (3d yr player Roderick Hood)is actually a better player. I don't know if he's better, but he is certainly a MUCH harder hitter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp0Rubps ... ed&search= Lito was the only guy in the secondary that wasn't a big hitter. Dawkins, Lewis and Brown all lay SERIOUS lumber on hits(see video below, hehehehe).
