A couple of years ago I needed to bring my computer to a local business to have a virus cleaned up. The woman said that she had to vacume the inside because of all the dust and dirt. I am not having any problems but I was just wondering if I put my home vacume on low and put a small nozzle a few inches away from the back where the input cables go would this cause any damage. Naturally the power to the computer would be OFF. |

Just open it and clean it carefully. You will be surprised how much dust is inside it. And it will make a difference removing it all. Dust on all the components makes them get hotter faster, and its heat that kills computers. |

Thats exactly what i do, open up the side and dust it out every now and then. It helps quite a bit. |

Buy a can of canned air. Open up, take outside, and blow it out. That's the best way to get it clean. If you have to do it inside, the vacuum will keep the dust down, but you need to blow it out, and that's best done outside where you don't have to worry about the dust. |

Be careful about loose jumpers getting blown out of place. |

Look at both sides one should be much easier to open. Try to look in through vents ans such, the side opposite the mother board will be the side that opens. |

M782 is the monitor, not the puter. |

There's probably a thumbscrew on the back that holds it together. You'll have to take that off. Most computer cases these days will slide apart. |

I have a Dell made about the same time. On the back of it, there is an L shaped black plastic piece. That will slide down about 1 inch, then the side panel it is closest to will slide towards the back and easily remove. Hope this helps... |
