I received a call this morning, one that I had been expecting though was not really prepared for.

Joe Grant, a man who started out in aviation before there were license requirements died last night. Joe was a fascinating individual and I could listen to him speak about the \"old days\" for hours. Among his many accomplishments was starting Saudia Arabian Airlines with a surplus DC-3, long story how that happened but the quick version is he had a lot of time on his hands between flights to the middle east as a pilot for TWA. He was a friend to kings and commoners alike, made no distinction between the two.

Joe Grant was 102.
