A10stress I hope you don’t mind the direction I’ve chosen to take with the 16mm films you gave me. Lockheed Martin is going to transfer the films to DVD free of charge. They are going to use some (a lot) of the footage to produce a LM promotional video but I will receive a DVD of all the films in “raw” uncut form. I will also get the 16mm films back and retain ownership of them. This means everyone can get a copy of these historic A-10 films for the price of shipping and handing (plus material cost), which should run about $10 for people in the US. I will also take donation, along with payment, to help support my website and other A-10 projects I’m working on like the mural I have stuck in my head. A10stress of course your copy will be free and the first one I ship. They should have the DVDs done and in my hands in a month or so and I will post more info when that happens. BTW for the new people who don’t know what I’m talking about, a10stress gave me five 16mm films about a year ago which contain some of the best and most historic A-10 footage I have ever seen. The films are… Fairchild Republic promotional video stressing the virtues of the A-10 and contains some classic footage. 10-12 mins USAF JAWs exercise (1979) showing some classic Europe training clips and JAWs paint schemes. 15 mins NAWs (two seater) promotional video showing testing, HUD footage, and weapons firing…a must have for anyone who liked the NAWs design. 15 mins Can’t remember what the forth films is. My favorite, a GAU-8A, Avenger cannon test footage reel. The films contain footage of testing firing of the Avenger and lots of shots of tanks being blasted by 30mm fire. Any A-10 film I have ever seen contains some of this footage and it’s all here on one reel. About 15mins Well, I ship the reels to LM today and more info will be coming soon. I'm second <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> But, seriously, Dice, thanks for everything you have done for us (us being the A-10 community & fans) in the past, present, and future. I know you will be just as "deep" into the Hog once you retire from active duty. I for one (and have said this before) am proud to have learned a thing or two, and served next to you! ps...sorry ya'll...a little but kissing never hurt <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> just kidding...i ment everything I "said" above... I have two cans of film that I purchased off eBay many years ago. I think one says "A-10 Gungas", the writing is hard to read (maybe gun gas?) The other says "A-10 Deployment to Sembach".
