What a game. Damn near put most of us New Englanders in the grave though. DLOWE pulled those two strikes out of his rear end though as far as I am concerned. Time to go head to head with the Bronx Buttheads. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |

My A's choked again. Should have been swept in three but some bad offensive and defensive errors kept that from happening. --- Pete Nelson Your Warthog Territory Webmaster |

Mark Prior and Kerry Wood are unstoppable right now...All we need is the rest of the rotation to step up a bit. I started watching the cubs back in the 1980's when local boy Ryne Sandberg (Spokane WA) started playing second base....I have to thank the Phillies for that trade, cause Ryno is by far the best second baseman in the history of the game. Pretty much lived and died with them since then, and I was actually pissed when they traded George Bell to the White Sox for a little know hitter that was prone to to many stikeouts....We would later know this guy as Slammin Sammy Sosa. Just wish Mark Grace was still a member if this team, loved #17. Dusty Baker is a winner, glad he is getting rid of that "wait untill next year" mentality that Chicago has had for so many [cough] decades... Edited by - chadrewsky on Oct 07 2003 1:45 PM |

Damn it Hawg, your a self respecting member of the Tomcat mafia...I don't want to hate you, but I really hope Bill Bucker is playing first for you guys when you come to Wrigley Tonight was a fluke, the Cubs are mere mortals without Prior or Wood on the mound, but when the pitching gods smile kindly on the Cubies, Wood and Prior bring the heat, and hell follows with it for any oposing hitter.... Beantown has nothing except a historic backdrop for a Chicago Cubs World Series victory, of course Yankee Stadium does as well. |

I have to agree about Woods and Prior, especially Woods. That man is on fire. But how does he compare to the screaming 45 MPH Wakefield knuckler ? Or the DLowe splitter ? Not to mention Pedro ? When we get done with this season Frank Sinatra is gonna be singin' My kinda town 'ol Beantown is My kinda town 'ol Beantown is He's gonna be singing from the grave. (Dear Lord, why do I know I am gonna eat those words again this year?) By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |

I hate the Yanks! Hate Clemens even more, though I loved him when he pitched for Boston. I am rooting for your sox hawg up untill the Series, then I have to go with my Chi-town Cubs. Pretty pleased right nopw, they got a 6 run lead and Clemenet is pitching well, but you can never count out the Marlins, either way we owened the Yanks in head to head interleague play, so if the Sox don't finish em, Chi-town will. |

Yup...we choked. I thought with Prior pitching it was as good as a sure thing. Oh well...Can't complain to much with the ball with Kerry Wood, he did lead MLB with strikeouts. Got to give it to the fish, they hang in there. I still am rooting for a Cobs/Sox World Series. |
