I HATE TO ASK BUT I'M STUMPED,

I'M LOOKING FOR ONE OF THOSE PNEUMATIC TOOL VACUUMS.
THE SHEETMETAL GUYS USED TO SUCK UP THE FO AFTER A JOB. YOU HOOK THEM UP TO THE COMPRESSOR AND ONE GREAT VACUUM.

THE REASON I ASK IS I WAS WATCHING MY DAD WORK ON A 24 ROW JD PLANTER TRYING TO GET ALL THE CRAP OUT OF IT. YOU CAN ONLY BLOW SO MUCH CRAP OUT BEFORE SOMETHING GETS CAUGHT UP IN A SMALL SPACE.
HE HAD NEVER SEEN ONE AFTER 35 YEARS WORKING IN MAINTANCE. I'VE LOOKED IN BOOKS AND IN STORES AND GOT "STUPID LOOKS"

GOT ANY IDEAS?

Actually Goose....I am assuming your father runs a JD Max-Emerge planter? If so, if I remember right, JD makes an accesory for cleaning seed residue/seed treater residue out of those....I have several farmers that I deal with that run those types of planters; in WA State we don't grow soybeans, but have some irrigated corn and dry beans in the region I live in...I will check around and get back to you via e-mail....I know exactly what you have in mind.

Hawg...

Best time of the year to plant grass seed is in the fall, plant it then put straw over it so the frost doesn't ding it. Biggest problem when people plant grass seed is they over water it for fear it will blow, then the soil crusts and the seedlings cannot emerge, best to keep it as dry as you can untill the seedlings emerge, then water it when needed if you are planting this spring, usually the soil is in pretty good shape moisture wise early in the year...

Hey Goose, the JD planter in question is it a plateless planter?
