Fine for students caught drinking at teacher's home
42 Texas teenagers fined $65; Adults claimed they were asleep

PEARSALL, Texas (AP) -- Dozens of high school students cited for underage drinking when police busted a post-football game bash at a teacher's home have pleaded no contest.

The 42 Pearsall High School football players, cheerleaders and band members were fined $65 each, a municipal court clerk said.

Adjudication was withheld, meaning the charge will not appear on their records if they successfully complete probation and a substance abuse seminar, the clerk said.

"Now we're going after the adults," police Chief Roland Hernandez told the San Antonio Express-News, the newspaper reported Saturday.

Police went to the teacher's home on August 28 after finding an unconscious female student by a road. She was treated for alcohol poisoning and released.

Authorities have not identified the teacher, who is suspended with pay pending an investigation.

Officials said the teacher and her husband claimed they were asleep upstairs and did not know the students were drinking alcohol in their home. Hernandez said he wants to determine if the couple supplied the alcohol.

I really don't see how they could let that many kids drink without someone knowing something like drinking was going on. I mean, let's let this many kids in our house and just fall asleep. BV, I love that show. I love Red's many references to Eric wearing his ass as a hat.

You expect normal teenagers to NOT try to drink?

And how do you sleep with a bunch of drunk teenagers partying downstairs?

65.00 dollars is cheap. The last batch of Article 15's given in my squadron for Under Age Drinking was Supspension of one stripe, $500.00 X 2 and 30 days additional duty. Dont forget the UIF as well. I realize this are High School kids however they are just one step away from being our new airmen.

When i was on my first assignment at George with the 27th TASS, the Wing king waved the age limit for the clubs for the under 21 guys, the reason was, With tijuana only a an hour or so away, to hopefully stimulate their habit in a secure overseen enviroment and not have the incedents take place.

Marines and the Navy did the same. But that never stopped Airmen Smuckatelli from going down there and bustting up the bar and whorers.

I agree with some quality of life changes in the 90's but the truth being.

I believe in mentoring a more professional recreational activity that allows people to unwind and enjoy their life at the same time not be a detriment to the organisation.
