About an half an hour ago my Uncle Jim Keith went home to glory. He enlisted in the Air Force to be in the band. He was a great musician. Instead he ended up being an ECM operator on B36 Peacemakers. He was a good man and he will be missed.

Sorry for your loss.

Small World:
My uncle just passed away from cancer.
He was stationed on the USS Boston in WWII.
He used to head all the gambling on the ship; think "McHale's Navy" minus the PT boat and that was him.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

This would probably be a good thread to note that my neighhor, WWII TBD Avenger gunner Skip Rodgers died last week at age 78.

Even as we lose these heroes they are replaced by a new generation of Heros.

To all of you then...<img src=newicons/smiley_salute.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have to admit I was kind of expecting to get blown off here but I am pleasantly surprised. have often felt thankfull for the thousands of men and women that have served in the past but never really gotten a thank you except on their way out the door. This was nice.

My uncle's viewing was today; the VFW payed their respects.
They placed the ceremonial-folded flag in his coffin and then concluded with "Taps" on the bugle.
It was very touching.
