From the BBC Online News... Explosives lost in airport gaffe By Allan Little BBC News, Paris The plastic explosives could be anywhere in the world, police say... Plastic explosives were mistakenly loaded onto a plane at a Paris airport after security officials lost track of it during an exercise, police say. Around 150 grams (about five ounces) of explosive were slipped into the bag of a passenger during sniffer dog training at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The bag ended up on one of 90 flights leaving at the time, and police are now trying to track it down. They stress the explosive is "no more dangerous than a bar of chocolate". But airlines, airports and police forces around the world have been alerted. It was a routine exercise that went wrong. An embarrassment but not, French police insist, dangerous. The package of explosive was put in a bag at the airport on Friday to see if police dogs could detect it. Nasty surprise Someone though took their eye off the ball and the baggage handler unwittingly put the bag on a plane. Police say they do not know which plane the bag ended up on; about 90 flights were leaving the airport at the time. Police insist the package of explosives is no more harmful than a chocolate bar - it has no detonator and does not react to movement, shock or even fire. But they do concede that somewhere in the world, one of the thousands of passengers who passed through the airport will get a nasty surprise when they open their luggage. ... "A .44 magnum beats 4 Aces everytime..." |

Some poor bloody tourist is probably now rotting in a jail cell somewhere in the world after being discovered with a bag full of explosives. Part of me hopes it’s a French Government official on holiday to the States. Arcanum Arcanorum |

This reminds me of a story I heard from a security guy at Heathrow. I've looked for it on the internet and can't find it, which probably means it's true Apparently the drug squad at Berlin Tegal Airport decided to try using a Boar to sniff for drugs. This was inspired by the fact that pigs are more intelligent than dogs and have a great sense of smell. They trained this thing up and to give it a dry run at the airport they put 20kgs of cocaine in a bag and left it in a pile of other bags. The handlers forgot how hard 350kgs of pig can pull and this thing broke free got to the drugs, ripped the bag open and snorted up about 5kgs of Charlie... And then went Ape Shit (or should that be Pig shit) and started smashing up the airport terminal. They had to bring it down with a hail of 9mm (they only had side arms). And apparently the stopping power of a 9mm on a crack crazed wild boar is not good. If anybody has heard anything like the above let me know, cos I'm still not sure if this guy was winding me up. Funny though... "A .44 magnum beats 4 Aces everytime..." |

"They had to bring it down with a hail of 9mm (they only had side arms). And apparently the stopping power of a 9mm on a crack crazed wild boar is not good." Oh the mental images... Nice selection of words in describing that my friend. "One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche |

What actually kicked the wild boar story off. I was taking this piss out of one of Heathrow's ARO's and his MP5. I was showing him pics of me an my old AR-15 (the good old pre-ban days ) He started talking about how the MP5 wouldn't be much use if a wild boar was rampaging round the airport...
